How much rain has fallen in the last months in NJ?
Plenty of rain and snow. If precipitation has been below average, it hasn't been by much. We got thunderstorms and heavy downpours as recently as Tuesday night. However, along with occasional wet weather, we've been experiencing some exceptionally dry air. Like right now it's 12C here but the dew point is -3C. 35% humidity. Combine that with the windy weather we've had, which dries out the land, and lots of leaves and branches on the ground, and conditions are quite right for fires.
The record low for my dream climate in July is 11.7°C. Remember my trip to Scotland in midsummer, nights were much too chilly for my tastes. Northern Ireland would be similar. I find summer nights too cool in Paris as well.

Approx 162 hours without any cloud cover, and during 120 hours unable to spot a single cloud in the sky. Some appeared yesterday, but were quickly burned off. This afternoon clouds started to form, and here we are.
Beat this, all you people living in temperate regions.
Spectacular.
That includes 106 hours of wall-to-wall sunshine. (If 99% of daylight.)
Maybe on overall patterns, but the temp predictions for our area this past winter by the Euro were laughable. I didn't even bother looking at it after early January as it was always so far off. The GFS and NAM were much closer getting our temps correct. I mostly only care about temps. Maybe now that winter is over their temps are better, but they blew lots of low temp forecasts this past winter.
What track do you think that Low will take? I wonder. I've seen the low track over Southern Illinois, as well as other model runs taking further south. From where you have it positioned on the map, it seems as if it will take a more northerly track. Is that right?
You're right, NAM is south more than GFS but general vicinity. Haven't looked at the track with the models to have an opinion on that... GFS brings it over Chicago, NAM is slower with it but it deteriorates before getting there. That almost makes sense to me given the traffic jam we are having.
374.2 mm here so far this year, a bit above average, with 196 mm in February and 85.7 mm in April so far, but the total will probably be about 120 mm. I've never seen more greenery here.
