Is everyone in the path ready?

12z Hi-Res NAM shows this for 6 hour snowfall totals. 3-9am Monday

Basically anything over 5" that falls in 6hrs will have whiteout conditions. This is just for this time period.

It all shifts southeast of course after. Like 7am-1pm shows heavier stuff over Richmond and southern Maryland/Delaware

Insane!

Amazing to keep seeing. Impressive.

Garden City Kansas 18z normal is 43°, they are only at 3°F!

I mean areas that should be in the 40s right now are struggling past single digits and teens. Gees! Why can't that happen here??

Dalhart,TX 18z normal is 48° but they are just at 10°

Kansas City,MO normal is 41° they are at 1°

Rapid City,SD norm is 33° currently -9°

Tupelo, MS is 19 degrees above normal at 72° while Memphis, TN is 17 degrees below normal at 35°

The annual Lake Michigan polar plunge was today. Had a special guest doing the plunge this year

They had to clear lots of ice beforehand

The only sign of spring we're missing now is the flowers, and the weather.

Next two weeks will feel like January for a good chunk of the US

True but the article was really about Spring.

Lexington is now expected to have 3-5 inches of snow, which is ok because it was originally going to be a lot of ice. As repugnant as snow is, it is unlikely to cause electricity loss.

Now next week has several days in the mid 50s, at least for now. That still seems rather cold for March but is in fact right about at the average in Kentucky. I've seen the posts about big anomalies in other parts of the country so I guess we could luck out.

Yup, pretty impressive stuff happening. That is why there is going to be a ton of snow in some areas up northeast more. gradient is tight! Talk about Clashing! And the Cold is winning because it keeps pushing south "during the day"

How about this one in Texas? About 55 miles apart.

Weather... fascinating on so many levels. But when situations like we have going on which started all the way out in the Pacific with a huge storm makes it even more fascinating.

Check this tweet out by NWS Arkansas!

"At 1 PM, Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport was having thunder with a temp of 13 degrees (F°)! (Along with sleet and snow, too!)"

Excellent Stats from Mt Holly!

  • Philly 3rd snowiest season so far since 1884 and could rise to 2nd place tomorrow
  • Philly will have 14 days of measureable snow and that will tie 2nd most.
  • Allentown, Pennsylvania – 4th longest stretch with snow on the ground since 1923!
  • Walpack, New Jersey – 25 days with sub-zero temperatures. The record is 28 days!
Philadelphia - 3rd snowiest season since 1884!!
