24F or -4C here at 11 PM, with a wind out of the east at 22 mph / 35 km/h gusting to 29 mph / 47 kph, blowing light snow.

There's currently a Winter Weather Advisory, and almost all area schools tomorrow are closed because of the weather.

The snow started at about 3 PM today.

Pictures from then (when I had to run an advertisement to Cloquet)

Greenery has taken over in my local forest:

It has been very dry the last weeks but this swamp's waterlevel is as high as ever

Nice photos.

Are the Phoenix palms in a position where they get blasted by salt laden winds? They look very unusual.

Today had a high temperature of 39F/4C and low of 24F/-4C. It was snowing heavily this morning, and many of the roads weren't plowed yet, despite about ten inches (25 cm) of snow having fallen, making driving conditions somewhat dangerous. The weather suddenly changed around 11 AM to sunny skies.

Thank you Joe. Yes, those palms are right on the beach in a bathing establishment and they always get humid and salty winds from the sea. There are hundreds of Phoenix, Washingtonias and Chamaerops on our beaches.
