Which months see the greatest change in temperature on average where you live? How about the least?

Around here we see the largest changes in October and November. October is 7.1C (12.8F) colder than September, and November is 6.4C (11.5F) colder than October. These are the means. For the max temperature, October is 8.6C (15.5F) colder than September. November is 8.1C (14.6F) colder than October during the day. The mins don't change nearly as much. 5.5C in October and 4.7C in November.

The least change between months is December to January, which has no change at all (according to the mean). If I use the max, it warms 0.1C, but if I use the min, it cools 0.1C.

When it comes to the warming up period in Spring, March warms the greatest over the month before (5.1C/9.2F warmer than February). The lows warm the fastest in May (4.5C/8.1F warmer than April).

Here's Kew Gardens. The number in brackets is the temperature difference from the previous month.

Jan: 8.2C (-0.3)
Feb: 8.7C (+0.5)
Mar: 11.6 (+2.9)
Apr: 14.4 (+2.8)
May: 18.0 (+3.6)

Sep: 20.0 (-3.2)

There's only about a 10 degree F difference in highs between the dead of winter and the height of summer, so our month to month changes are pretty gradual. The largest drop is between November and December at 4 F and the largest increase is a tie between April, May, and June at about 2 F apiece.

Monthly means for Bremerhaven with the Difference of the previous month in brackets
Jan: 1.1°C (-1.4°C)
Feb 1.6°C (+0.5°C)
Mar 4.1°C (+2.5°C)
Apr 7.5°C (+3.4°C)
May 12.3°C (+4.8°C)
June 15.4°C (+3.1°C)
July 16.8°C (+1.4°C)
Aug 16.9°C (+0.1°C)
Sep 14.2°C (-2.7°C)
Oct 10.3°C (-3.9°C)
Nov 5.6°C (-4.7°C)
Dec 2.5°C (-3.1°C)

Temperature change is greatest in May and November and you can also notice our pronounced seasonal lag here, so the quickest warming happens from April to June and vice verse the cool down goes from October to December. Lowest temperature change in July/August (both are almost equal) and a bit more pronounced in January/February.

Looking at the average highs the greatest temperature change is also in May (+5.2°C) versus April
and in November (-5.4°C) versus October.

Also the same with the lows: May (+4.2°C) versus April, November (-4.2°C) versus October.
