The last few days we have had lots of airborne Saharan dust making the sun hazy & the sky at times having a red/orange glow, thankfully the winds this afternoon have switched & the sky is becoming clearer again. This satellite photo from yesterday shows the cloud of dust over the central Mediterranean...
It's crazy to think that you could/will be warmer than us in just a few weeks.
Having snow falling during the latter half of April happens once in a few years or so. Snow clearly accumulating, maybe once in 10 years. This kind of heavy snow, maybe once in 30 years.
The second half of April will be the coldest since 1992.

All this is totally exceptional.
Just checked SMHI's forecasts for Sweden and Finland. Vaasa on the other side of the pond gets a 2'C high for the fifth of May. Umeå manages a 5'C high for that day though...
Västervik in southern Sweden, with a May average high of about 16.5'C has a 5'C high in the forecast on the 8th of May. . This is getting ridiculous. 2-3 weeks in a month's period with extreme negative temperature anomalies.
They actually have the same amount of snow now as they had at the end of March and there's up to 5 cm forecast for tomorrow, so they might end April with more snow than they started with - I bet that doesn't happen too often.
I've heard of years when they are struggling to get a snowpack in time for the tourist season just before Christmas, so to have nearly a metre of snow coming up for the start of May when it probably never gets dark seems a bit surreal.
