They were hot relative to average, though. Only 1990, 1995 and 2003 were actually 'hot'. 1949 and 1997 each had a hot month.

A normal winter at Orly or anywhere in Germany would be considered cold or notably cold here, so it works both ways.

That's why Orly has a better climate than Heathrow.

Btw 31 mm (1.2") today in Nice.

It does, Orly is basically an upgraded version of Heathrow, in terms of climate.

Depends whether you like stability or 'extremes'.

Orly 4c in Jan, 20c in Jul vs Heathrow 5c in Jan, 19c in Jul.

Orly is fairly stable. I like moderated climates, but variation from time to time is nice. London winters are slightly too warm, and the summers are slightly too cool. Generally speaking.

Paris i think is 0.8 degrees warmer than London ,same sun, same rain volume ,rain days , same wind, same everything else . I suspect the extra warmth in the summer months could be due to these occassional heatwaves that come up through France .Sometimes the heat can't be arsed to cross the channel - actually it stops before then. Around 10 miles north of Paris i think since Lille has the same Summer figure as London i note .

I don't think there could be two closer cities in terms of a match up. Maybe Lille = London ?

Nantes ,Brussels and even Rouen up the road don't fit that closely to Paris and London is not a close match to Brighton or Birmingham for example .

The data for Paris on wiki is for the heart of the UHI. Orly is comparable to Heathrow, pretty much the same in every parameter.

London is more similar to the towns west of Paris, such as Evreux, Alencon or Le Mans.

Yeah - i have noticed that on my findings . My neck of the woods goes around the Evraux/Saint Quentin /Beauv/Arras zone - can't get it dead exact but it's a close enough fit and as close as i can hope to get
Anywhere else on the near continent was either too wet (Belgium/NW Fran/Holland ) slightly too cool -mainly due to winter drop off (Holland/Germ) too cloudy (Germ) too warm (NW france again) too sunny (west coast France)

No where i recall was drier than 550 .

This week's forecast is actually a pretty good one, the first since the first week of April. 16'C on friday with sun, and up until that 12'C, 10'C, and 13'C. 11.6'C yesterday with sun. Hopefully we'll see some buds open up from it, because next week will once again be complete shit.
