Europe's first 40C of the year?

Temperature dropped quickly after reaching 40C. It was 40C at 1400, then only 24C at 1830!

^^ That time is UTC though, local time is three hours ahead so it makes a bit more sense. Though still, going from 40C at 5 pm to 24C at 9.30 pm is still a pretty big drop.

wow, early summer day in Malta, parts of Sicily, and completely a typical summer day in much of Greece and a typical summer heat wave in parts of Turkey and much of Greece, specially Crete, smaller islands and those 36ºC... wow take a look in northern Africa, what's up with those 33-35ºC lows? What is this?!? I'm sure yesterday were broken some records. Those 40.6ºC in Greece one of them...

This reminds me of the extreme heat wave happened in the Valencian Community exactly 2 years ago, on 14th May of 2015...

when the European record for May was broken in few stations from Valencia, although settled with those 45ºC in Antella in a AEMET observation station. It was crazy that day!!!

Yeah, I would not want to live anywhere near somewhere that can hit 45C, I'd take -20 over that oven
