SE England or just London ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eindhoven#Climate

Just London has bigger high temperatures during the summer than Eindhoven. Eastbourne, Hastings, Brighton, etc all don't achieve even a high avg of 21ºC in their warmest month.

Although well, Eindhoven is somehow inland, so let's compare it with Rotterdam which averages 22.2ºC in July and 22.1ºC in August, being near the sea and in the middle of a big river. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotterdam#Climate

They're directly on the coast, that's why. I thought that was obvious.

Those places have weather stations directly on the coast. They have warmer summers than Calais, Ostend etc.

Places slightly inland like Southampton have warmer summers than Rotterdam. Portsmouth's average highs, practically on the beach (21.8c) are warmer than those of The Hague.

Several inland south-eastern locations achieve highs above 23C. This station is practically identical to Eindhoven in July, and sustains more warmth into August and September:

Edit, apparently that's estimated. Here's another with highs above 23C:

Colchester's weather station doesn't record temperatures though.

Shoeburyness directly on the coast has 22.0 highs in July and August.

Rotterdam is quite far from the sea. Ipswich, Colchester and Winchester are all sigbificantly closer to the sea. Der Haag would be a better alternative, but even that city isn't very coastal. Even so, Portsmouth and Southend right on the coast, are warmer in summer. And look at Margate. Hard to get more oceanic than that, still averages 22'C highs for both July and August.

To even get a coastal city you need to go south to Oostende, and even then it only maxes 20.3 and 20.9 in July/August.

And Eindhoven uses KNMI, which is completely inaccurate. Just look at the difference between Ipswich's climate according to Met Office and KNMI

Rotterdam and most of Holland is a junk climate, like Belgium and most of Germany .

I don't live in London and my average highs are around 23c, the same as Eindhoven ,yet Eindhoven is much more inalnd within the continent .
Eindhoven is also cloudier and colder in winter . Oh, and 176 rain days lol

a junk climate fit for ducks
