The worst heat in this heat wave will be in East Greece and North. At West and North West country NW winds that affect the area will keep the temperature in lower levels as you see in the map but they will bring also high humidity levels from Ionian Sea so heat index will be higher.
I found a video from the heavy thunderstorm in Ioannina at 24 July this year. The guy that recorded the video studies meteorology at University of Ioannina and I know him personally.

Heatwave is done here, no day should be above 35 in the next week and lows should remain around 19-20. Normal mid-summer weather.
Every thunderstorm announced in the last 3 weeks has been postponed though. No rain in sight.
