Generally speaking.

Parts of Western Scotland have winters as mild as south east England.

My summer climate is a sea breeze climate, which is a bit like having a thermostat setting. It's a consistent feature of the climate.

30C+ temps here come ahead of a cold front, and as they are only brief events here, 30C temps only last an hour or two at the most.

Really? they tend to be the mildest even during easterly air-streams its the east that is mostly affected.

First week of July has below average temps, above average rainfall and record levels of cloudiness! I bet we get another summer with shocking sun hours now.

June looks like it'll come in slightly above average, around 220 hrs. July and August probably now won't even manage to break 200 hrs.

No during the winter easterly winds can drag in very cold air, the east coast is less affected as the sea moderates the cold air, that air then cools as it travels over land, so by the time it reaches the west it is colder. This is what happened during the cold winter of 1987, Penzance dropped to -9.9C & the Isles of Scilly to -7.2C...

Today's maximum temperatures across Europe... The heatwave continues across western Europe, from Iberia, through France & Belgium up to the UK, (which saw its hottest June day for 41 years), also hot through parts of central Europe down to Italy & across to the Balkans into Ukraine...

You just had the warmest June in decades. What exactly are you complaining about? July and August will have their share of warm and sunny weather.
