I doubt it.

I just don't understand why it's been so hard for the UK to get heatwaves in recent years. They seemed to occur frequntly in the 1990s and most of the 2000s but now the heat always goes to Eastern Europe. Nobody seems to have an explanation.

The 60s were nothing special in terms of summers, and other than 1975 and 76, neither were the 70s.

But the 1900-1930s generally had similar averages to 81-10. The 60s had the worst summers of the 20th century by far.

It's been so wet this month so far that the grass is still lush green.

That would more likely be due to the above average cloudy skies than the rainfall.

I saw that comment. I think the guy goes on to complain about the heat, so don't think it would be something to brag about. Yuk. Spend the whole summer indoors out there. No thanks.

Time for some cold winters in the UK. Maybe then you will get hot summers. Nature likes to keep the annual mean temps very close (except for that pain in the neck Seattle). Your winters have been so warm, nature is balancing it with cooler summers maybe.

Cue all the posts about how cold your winters have been the last few years.
