I love little tiny streets like this.

Yeah, when I clicked the link it said it was Stornoway, in the outer Hebrides. St Ives water temp in summer is 16c. 19c is like the central south coast.

August looks like it'll be worse than July! The forecast is a total disaster.

Either that or the Canadians and Americans have a tropical climate now.
Don't know what's more likely.
How can there be a mini ice age when Europe consistently has above normal temps EVEN during the summer. Look at an anomaly map of Europe for June and July. Most were above normal

This is the onset IMO,look at the forecasts you posted, does that look like most of Europe will be above normal?
North,West and Central below,East above,South some above some below.
5 Days of above avg doesn't cancel out the others being on or below avg.
We will get a few days above normal, totally being canceled out next week by way below averages.
Same goes for Holland,France,Germany,UK,Scandinavia and more as you can see in the maps you posted.
I never said we are in a full blown ice age,i'm pretty sure this is the onset.
Now you guys in the US are the lucky ones, you still get the El Nino heat aftermath, and a La Nina building, which favors hot summers there,so it's easy to think this is rubbish.
Europe is pretty much screwed if this keeps up because we already lucked out the past Winter, when instead of the "bitter cold" forecasted due to El Nino we got one of the mildest ever, but it also ****ed up most of our Spring and Summer.

The dew point is the only thing keeping the temp comfortable at the moment. It's showery, windy and overcast too; a horrible day for August.

No sun recorded this month so far!

It is very wrong then. Average high for August here is 23.2c, or 24c for the first week.

St Ives & coastal areas of Cornwall are lovely, there are some amazing beaches with beautiful scenery & azure clear blue sea water too, but the weather there is generally awful. We used to holiday a lot in Devon & Cornwall & the heatwaves don't make it down there & they get the brunt of the wind & rain coming in from the Atlantic. I spent many a summer holiday sat in a caravan while it was pi**ing with rain & blowing a gale down that way lol...
