I just would like to write a little parentheses about the situation here on western Alps in this moment.
Luckily there are no more bad news, after the really strong precipitations we had a couple of weeks ago.
Actually, the weather condition have been really good during the last week, and ideal for allowing an early opening of the most of ski plants at high altitude. This is a really good news for us, because in the last few years it was quite rare to open the plants at the beginning of December with natural and not artificial snow. So right now there are really a lot of tourists in the high part of my valley (Bardonecchia and near localities) for enjoying the first snow days of the year.
In addition, in these days we are hosting the women's ski World Cup in Sestriere. Today there are the giant slalom competitions, and tomorrow the slalom ones.
In practice, this winter started really well for the skiing sector
The fog situation here is getting out of hand. Everytime I go out it feels like a giant bathroom after a shower. No mild weather, no sun, no wind, no rain, no temperatures below freezing, pretty much just only cold humid stable foggy weather for days on end, with extremely little difference between day and night and a relative humidity that remains above 90%.
