Based on the forecast, Jan 2017 will be colder than 2013 or 2009, but shouldn't threaten 2010.

We had about 0.5" of snow this morning at around 07:30, and by 10:30 you'd never have know that it'd ever snowed. Oh well.

Our best NA impersonation in recent years was November 2010. It started off very mild, and ended with the coldest November highs on record.

Pescara thing is crazy indeed, a friend from there sent us the news today while people were falling on iced streets here, just 400 km away.

Wow look at the snow depth column ("neige max"). The snowpacks they can achieve and maintain are rather impressive given their averages.

And of course Feb '12, with no less than 21 cm at any point in the month and up to 63 cm:
Climatologie mensuelle en février 2012 à Bucuresti / Imh (Bucarest) | climatologie depuis 1900 - Infoclimat

As I look out the window, big, wet snowflakes are darting towards the ground. Woop woop!
