They are probably hawthorn, blackthorn, almond, cherry or plum. Are they full of white/pink 'arms' of flowers? To be fair, most of them look the same from a distance.

Magnolias are out here but probably not up there yet; they have much larger white, pink or cream flowers that open like a tulip.

Hawthorn

Blackthorn

Almond

Cherry

Plum

Magnolia

Interesting. Hawthorn and blackthorn seem to be the ones - they were blossoming at the end of Feb and are now leafing. Some plum trees as well.

The magnolias are budding and getting close to blossoming here. There's one across the road from me in my neighbour's garden.

UK folks, where do you guys get your weather data from? I'm referring to long term recorded data, the Met Office website has some nice maps, but it also has a lot of shortcomings.

I usually use Ogimet or Tutiempo. Ogimet seems to be more reliable.
There's Meteociel too, but i think the locations are rather limited on there.

Met Office is good for local climate information, but for actual recorded data, it's no good.

Ogimet looks pretty dense for a newbie, but I'll get the hang of it.

Actually it's easy to get a hang on. Just find out the nearest station and its WMO code (5-digit number), and put the clock to 19 or 20 hours UTC and you'll get the accurate daily data.

To figure out the averages copy and paste the numbers into excel and let it count the averages for you.

^^ wow Sevilla and Málaga maximums of just 13ºC and 14ºC?! impressive

That's -8.9ºC under the average in Sevilla. 9ºC freakin' degrees under the average! wooow. In Málaga not that big difference (-5.6ºC) but still well under it!

btw normal temps today in Almeria, Valencia, Cadiz, etc. nothing compared to yesterday which was really cool for those coastal places. Also sunny and without a trace of rain in most of those places!
