God help us to avoid this please! +28 C at 850 hpa over Greece. This means more than 40 C high temperatures in the whole country.

Please not when I go on holiday there!

Would much prefer normal 31C/21C! Not ridiculous 40C/26C

So far, this July in Rimini has been hotter than Alexandria, Egypt, while in Bologna and Milan has been hotter than Cairo.
And the real heat is arriving now.

Well, it's really hot there right now, but at least you have amazing summer thunderstorm from time to time, whereas they don't in Egypt.

For sure. However, Spain is really boiling this summer too. Madrid looks terrible since late June!

June and early July 2014 was cooler than average here, but this one is much warmer than average. Just kind of summer 2003 reloaded.

I saw that you will go in Corfu. Corfu is humid in summer. So highs in mid 30s are possible with high humidity. You will experience about 38 - 39 C with 40% RH at noon with this map for sure. Here I will have 40 C for sure. Corfu rarely goes > 40 C. But with 28 C at 850 hpa it is possible. So you must go to beaches with cold waters.

What are SSTs like in Corfu? I read that they can be about 27C? Anyway yeah I don't want ridiculously high humidity or heat.. going out in evenings will be hell otherwise! Give me normal Corfu weather

What is SST? Normal Corfu weather in summer is sunny and very warm with high humidity.
