That's wrong.

Back to my point. First half of April, our cold days are probably more harsh than London's. Also, London is more consistent. It may not see as many warm days as we do over the course of the month, but at least for the first half, I think it's better than here (based on the temps that I have seen).

Even in a very mild April like that of 2010 (avg max of 18.8C), we had a max temp that was only 4C during the first week... Which was preceded by back to back 27-28C days on the 1st and 2nd. Then a high of only 11C at the end of the month.... Obviously nothing that continental happens in London. We recorded 260.3 hours (slash 10% of to give you CS equivalent)...

Btw, IKK's average max was 20.8C that April.

Could you please go somewhere else with that London - Chicago pissing contest? I hardly believe anyone besides you two are interested in it, or want to see it going on every single day.

Thank you.

Thank you.
Geesh what's up your ass?? We are just having a conversation. No arguments, no insults. Just comparing climate data which is what you do on this forum right?? I'm even complimenting London during this time of the year.

My nearest NWS station would have 1-2 days more for each since I'm farther from the lake which is quite cold this time of the year... For example I have had as many as 7 days at or above 80F/27C in April (1990).

MDW's average highest max in April is 81F/27C, with 91F/33C being the record. MDW's average lowest max for April is 40F/4C with lowest being 30F/-1C. Data going back to 1981... So our swings are definitely greater than London's in April and even if we are about 2C warmer (max temps), the first half of the month here is quite volatile. Which is I've stated before that March and into early April, I prefer London over CHI....

We are also going to get mild this weekend. with temps between 19-24C. Hope next Sunday is dry and mild. I'm hosting Easter at my house. Cooking 2 lambs on a spit
Sounds good to me George!

I agree April can be a nice month here

We are about 75% fully leaved out here now, with the remaining trees all close to leaving.. so about a week ahead of schedule maybe... this week has been great, mild and sunny with a warm weekend coming up with more sunshine

Weird how we've had some good Aprils recently, 2007 and 2011 recording almost 20C. Av max temps, no other month seems to get such positive anomalies here in recent times

I think April 2007 (and maybe 2011 too) was the highest positive anomaly ever recorded any month in Paris, at least regarding high temps.

Early spring is the time of the year if you like settled weather. That may not be much for Ariete or Nice-based Rozenn, but more than 2 days of 0/8 cloud cover is pretty rare here. Might not be 0/8 throughout though. Since I've been here, and it's been almost 2 months, only 1 day had a 0/8 cloud cover all day long (midnight to midnight).

Ironically, April 2007 was quite cold in the Eastern US, particularly the first two weeks. Here's some data from random cities:

Marquette is the most shocking, high of only 17 F (-8 C) on the 6th and a low of 1 F (-17 C) on the 10th

Mason City is a pretty sweet climate, kind of a hybrid of Des Moines and Minneapolis. One of my favorite climates in the Lower 48.

BTW don't mean to hijack this thread with my American BS, I'll leave before I get yelled at.
