Lack of any real heat so far this year, and the past 4-5 days have been awful with cloud cover all day and hitting 20C at best, with the sun only coming out in the evening.

I would take the 'cool' summer that Chicago is having right now in an instant

I just wished we had consistently proper summers. So far this month ORD 79.7F/26.5C and MDW 81.2F/27.3C and my suburb 80.2F/26.8C. Normal high for first 10 days of July is 84.4F/29.1C

LAME

I must prepare for even lower averages the coming days

Here is the origins of the upcoming cold snap

Lol... really puts it into perspective when our hottest July ever had an average max of 28.5C, just above your current temperatures.

A look at the GFS12z data for Bridgeport(BDR)and Chicago (ORD) now till the 23rd. You don't have to understand all this to realize there is a long stretch for this time of year with single digits at 850mb. Have fun.

Wanna trade??? I'm dying here! ANOTHER above normal day!

While the projection looks tame, it doesn't look cool for me.

Also... NO 90s in the picture. Perfect.

Yes, but it is all relative really. If you are used to those temps, and all of a sudden you get large swings it feels much cooler. Count yourself lucky you live in a climate where temps fluctuate very little.

Yes, and these averages aren't worthy to be called "summer" IMO. I'm trying to convince my wife to take a few days off and head down to Florida next week. She's reluctant because she took off a week and we spent a lot of cash in Myrtle Beach

What stations reached 28.5C? Because according to weatheronline the highest average ever recorded at Heathrow is 28.3C in 2006

Max. Temperature - London - Climate Robot United Kingdom

I believe it was St James' Park or another central London station.. although a few of them have stopped recording data in the past few years so they may not exist anymore

I would get to Florida ASAP if I could (as soon as Owen leaves there of course.. )

Someone pointed out that my map I posted here from 1975 looked like there could of been some big flooding in the Northeast from the setup...

Sure enough I went to check. NYC had 11.77" July 1975. 2nd wettest July. 1st wettest was 1889 with just 0.12" more.

So will this setup coming up have the same liquid similarities?

NWS NY

THE SCENARIO IS ILLUSTRATIVE OF ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
FROM SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS WEAK LOWS MOVE ALONG THE
STALLED FRONT. CONVECTION LESS FREQUENT SUNDAY NIGHT BUT BECOMING
MORE FREQUENT MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY WHEN MOISTURE
TRANSPORT INCREASES WITH THE INCREASED MERIDIONAL FLOW. THE LAYER
PRECIPITABLE WATERS INCREASE RAPIDLY SUNDAY AND REMAIN RELATIVELY
NEAR 2 INCHES THROUGH MIDWEEK. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR TORRENTIAL
DOWNPOURS
WITH SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
.

THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL -

Here's a look at the Record Low Temps across the U.S for the month of July.

Next week doesn't look as cold now. Maybe Close for some?
