That's 6 hours below 20C. In other words most of the night.
Yes,, but that' very much above normal and those minimums are still pretty cool by our standards. I do envy how easily the air warms in climates with low humidity/dew points. It's harder to heat wet air than dry air.
This July has been a complete disaster, last July was also below normal, but 2012 was epic. This is the kind of morning I like to have in July
July 6th 2012 (Chicago/MDW)
Today has been a seasonal day (High 30ºC) and it didn't drop below 20 until 1 AM.
I also meant that it only stays in the 14-15ºC range for one or two hours, not below 20ºC for one or two hours.
Nah, it's the same warm air that is above us now, and the cooler low-front from the Atlantic will push it only temporary eastwards, then returning reinforced with new hot air from the Black Sea. For how long it will I don't know. Could be only 3-5 August. All models suggest this for now.
At the moment the "fantasy world" models put August as very unsettled, and N Europe could see a wide variety of weather.
Tornado watch (previously until 8pm) was just extended to 2am.
Yup... threat still there as the trough swings in. See the base? jet Stream driving these thunderstorms and Tornado threats. Lots of spin in the atmosphere.
Nothing here yet but I see PA is building them.
A look at the rounding base 500mb heights and winds.
Not liking whats over PA right now. I hope it wont be a long night here.
