While I won't see 40s again for another couple months having 50s would be nice. Normal low is now 60s until mid September.

Here are the lows when the Canadian High Pressure moves in around the holiday. Models just don't know when.

This is GFS for the 5th.

Most absurd is the 50's in the large city stations from DC to NY... 60F or lower in July hasn't occurred since 2002 at DCA, 2001 at DMH, and 2009 at both PHL and NYC.

Nice info. Interesting. GFS isn't hi-res so it has hard time picking up higher elevations or urban heat zones. Plus still tends to over spread the cold too much even after its upgrade.

Curious what the max temp has been this year so far? Minnesota & Manitoba got 90s. Imperial Nebraska hit 100°
Cool map.

Looks like El Paso hit 109F, same as Yuma and Laredo.

120F on map must be Death Valley

Wow, after that first rain the temperature fell to 75F and then the dewpoint rose to 71F. Decided to take a walk between rain showers and my glasses fogged up! Saw steam rising off the pavement once the sun came back out.
