Regions in the world with the WORST climate (warmest, ice, days)

For me, it's Eastern Asia - Humid hot summers, little sunshine, smog, too much rain & cold snowy winters (to the north). There isn't a single place in East Asia that I rate above D. America's Midwest is a close call for similar reasons...

So...what is that ONE region in the world that has the most horrendous climate for you?

Most of the Southern USA. Hot, humid, like someone through a wet hot blanket over your head. I can't live anywhere that's 110 degrees - ever.

I'd say any place with frequent dust storms. Its one thing to be in the rain or snow, but to have grit in your eyes and mouth is unbearable.

This would include Chile south of 50° latitude, Tierra del Fuego, The Falklands (or Malvinas), Campbell and Macquarie Islands, Kerguelen and Marion Island, South Georgia, South Orkney and other bits and pieces of rock that can barely sustain grass let alone a human population.
None of these places have anything I would call a summer and even the driest of the lot average more rainy days per year than dry ones. Wind is a constant companion; in fact you can't get away from it. Some favored spots have average annual wind speeds rivaling New Hampshire's Mt. Washington. Sunshine is anemic here. One of the sunniest places that track this is Ushuaia and they get less than 1400 hours in a good year. Even Edinburgh can beat that and Bergen's not too far behind. And that's the best this region can do! Most of these islands and costal areas run in the 800 to 1000 range.

There are many regions that are unsuitable but you have to look far and wide to find as generally awful a climate in as large a patch of Earth as the "Furious Fifties" and "Screaming Sixties".

Agree. And don't forget that Campbell averages only 640 hrs (at best), and the South Orkneys even less it seems.
