That probably explains it! Today was forecast to be partly cloudy, but amazingly they were wrong again and it has been sunny all day. We have double glazing windows here, and when we got a loft extension 15 years ago we added extra insulation in some of the walls and roof. This house is pretty good at retaining heat in winter, but in summer it can be a pain, when we get those odd hot days with warm nights my room can stay above 25C all night even with windows open if there is not a draught. My room is W/SW facing so I get the sun from around 3PM onwards.

In a matter of minutes room temp drops to comfort levels. Best invention ever.

Neighbors must think a polar bear lives here.
And you turned your heat on the next morning?

A window fan would have done just as much as A/C at that outdoor temperature.

^^ When we go on holiday, my dad refuses to turn on the AC unless it is very hot. I agree with him.. no need for AC unless the room temperature is above 25C late into the evening

My bedroom is at or over 25°C for half the summer in the evening.

My room tends to be as well, unless we get oceanic trash like 2007 with cloudy, windy days. Generally, on an average and partly cloudy 23C/24C day in July, my room temperature will be around 25C until 8pm. Our cooler nights mean that it drops to around room temperature over night though.

Air blowing out of the AC vent is cooler than set temp... For here ac set at 18c/64f have air coming out of the vent around/just above freezing temp... in the scout building ac set at 16c/61f the air coming out of the vent was slightly below freezing

16.7°C inside. Heating's on again. Cloudy, so no help from the sun.

Well, I lied. That cold snap last week brought it down to 68F/20C in the morning! Hopefully there will be no more of those events until fall, it's once again 75º with AC on.
