1 July thru 30 Jun in Northern Hemisphere, and the calendar year in the Southern, I believe. Correct me on the latter if wrong. Please also post the least snowy winter (if it's zero, post only the last occurrence), provided your location averages more than a trace of snow.

DCA, POR 1884-07-01 to present: 56.1" (142.5 cm) in 2009/10, down to 0.1" (0.3 cm) in 1972/73
IAD, POR 1962-11-17 to present: 73.2" (185.9 cm) in 2009/10, down to 2.2" (5.6 cm) in 1972/73
BWI, POR 1892-03-01 to present: 77.0" (195.6 cm) in 2009/10, down to 0.7" (1.8 cm) in 1949/50
EDIT: PIT, POR 1880-01-01 to present: 82.0" (208.3 cm) in 1950/51, down to 8.8" (22.4 cm) in 1918/19. NOWData gives 80.0" in that winter, but that was at KPIT; the official station of record for Pittsburgh at the time was KAGC. Of course, for the time being, that makes little difference.

A NOTE TO THE FIRST OPTION: Flying snowflakes DO NOT COUNT and should be voted under the first option, but you are free to indicate them in your reply

I sent a note to NWS Pittsburgh Office to confirm which is correct.

The record for where I live is 441 cm or 175 inches around 1970-71. I was just a baby then so I don't remember it. I moved around since then but am now back in that same area. The highest I have seen anywhere in my lifetime that I can remember was the winter of 2007-08 where we came close to breaking the record with almost 430 cm or about 170 inches. That year the lying snow (not piled or shovelled) was as high as my backyard fence at one point, which is 1.5 m or five feet high.

I don't know 63 and 50 inches or 60. I'm not sure because I wasn't alive and we don't hold data.

I do know there was many a snowstorm that winter with 5 feet drifts. So I suppose 60 inches would be ok. All I know is that we had about 30-40 inches in 2010.
