^thats what I would call it. Not exciting. Winters lack snow and summers lack thunderstorms. Depressed. Although my vancouver is a bit less depressed than yours.
I'd call Melbourne boring. Around 9 months of the year are cool and drizzly.
I am so sick of not having decent downpours here in this city. To make matters worse people go on about how much it poured and it might be a pissy 7mm or something like that...
'Dull' would be the best single word to describe it. This term can cover both the lack of sunshine and also the overall boringness and monotony. We do not get extremes of temperature, snow, thunder and torrential rain are all rare. Pleasant, sunny warm weather is not common at any time of year.
As far as major cities are concerned, Glasgow has one of the most boring climates in the world.

People always exaggerate the weather here.
Not only grossly exaggerating the intensity of rainfall, but also the fact that any time there is sunshine and it feels even slightly warm, everyone will say that it is 'hot' or 'boiling'. It might only be a nice day in early May with a temperature of 16C, but the words 'pleasant' or 'warm' are never used. It would always be described as 'hot' or some hyperbolic synonym thereof.
