I know that does happen (summer too) I have relatives that lived near Aberdeen,
visited them a few times.
Dyce is the airport, flew into Dyce many times, one time couldn’t land dew to heavy fog.
If it ever is the warmest (which doesn't happen often) then its mostly during Winter and Spring. This Summer a station in North-East Scotland recorded the highest UK temperature on only one day (and even then it tied with a station elsewhere). So far this winter that number is 4. Dyce hasn't been the warmest place in the UK since 31st December 2016, when it recorded 13.5°C. However on the 26th May 2017 in a rather remarkable event, the temperature reached 29.4°C at Lossiemouth, Morayshire which is the highest temperature ever observed on this date in the UK and remarkable given its coastal location.
If I had to put a bet on anywhere being warmest in summer it would be Heathrow, it was warmest 17 out of 92 times this summer.
