I could do with getting my own as I use Linton on Ouse usually. The amateur ones in the centre of York are always a degree or two higher, so I'm a little wary whether or not to use them.

I live in a south facing town house with a concrete courtyard, so I'm not sure if it would be any good. It traps the heat so anything over 20C actually feels hot.

Yeah most stations report higher values than the reality due to poor shielding. I would use Church Fenton if it didn't close down.

Doesn't Leeds have an official station? I always thought that with Look North being in Leeds, there would be a station. Paul Hudson needs to pull his finger out.

Nope. The closest we have is Leeds Bradford airport but that's 207m asl which is ridiculous. There is apparently a met station at the university of Leeds but it is private and the public cannot view it. Stupid I know. Really annoying that one of the largest cities in the country is whtout a weather station.

What was the dewpoint at the max?

I'll compare it right now where it's 25c dewpoint 11c.

24C / 75.2F at Værnes (12 m) and 23.3C / 73.9F at Voll (127 m)
RH: 56 %
Partly cloudy
Was at the beach, snorkeling, getting a tan, relaxing.

High today:
Værnes 28.4C / 83.1F
Voll 29.6C / 85.3F
Too warm for comfort today, at least in the sun

Some stations in the region got up to nearly 33C

Could get 18 days above 25C / 77F (Værnes) this July month given the forecast

25C in Buxton?! 'Only' 24.4C here, though this has still been the warmest day of the year so far. The wait for our first 25 goes on and on.

Re. lack of local weather stations, I do Skipton a disservice by using Bingley weather station because it's about 100 metres above where I actually live, which is enough to make a subtle difference to the weather, but of the nearest official stations to me Malham Tarn is on top of a moor and doesn't really represent anywhere where anybody lives (or would want to live, it can be bleak as hell), and Stoneyhurst is a little bit too far away and the data not as easily available, even if it's at about the right altitude.

What's the water temp? Sounds like fun, I love snorkelling.
