Insurance for that kind of thing is nasty expensive over here.

I like the durability of my trusty Note 3. I've dropped it a number of times, including slinging it halfway across the airport terminal when I got up and caught my arm around the cord to the charging port behind me. Yikes, I know. But not a scratch on it.

Samsung rocks.

Or maybe I know what I'm doing. Insurance cost isn't cheap. AppleCare isn't too bad but it doesn't cover lost or theft.

The best insurance for your iPhone 6

I also don't think I'm careless enough to drop a phone in the toilet.

Yep, no insurance. So I'll have to try and fix it myself or take it to apple store and ridiculously overpay for it to be repaired.

I don't like paying for insurance when I don't have to, i'm generally very careful with my things.. dropped my last phone many times but never had any problems. Looks like i'm spending the rest of this evening opening up my phone and searching the apple forums on how to fix it then!

Lol private health insurance is a waste of money.. NHS receives a lot of stick, but really it is a brilliant service, and I'm very happy to have free healthcare on hand when I need it.

The screen didn't even crack, and it was only a small drop, so I even said 'phew' as I turned it over and realised it wasn't cracked. But now the screen is black

I can still connect it to my computer and hear noises it's making, so I reckon the screen has gone.
Hah, I've dropped/tossed my I phone countless times and it keeps on keeping on

If you can't fix it yourself, take it to an independent repair place. There's one right up the street from me, with a good reputation and much lower prices than the Apple store.

This is why I don't do Apple - you pay a lot more than needed for the same tech, and in the case of my Samsung, I think it does more than the iPhone, plus it's tough as hell. (And yes, you should have seen my phone take flight across the terminal floor - that would have shattered any iPhone into a million pieces, no doubt...lol.)
