Rather be up in daylight, early morning is good (sun angle low and not as hot) for getting an early bike ride and it's just peaceful. What's the point of staying up at night? Other than late night socializing /partying, don't see the point.
It's peaceful. And you just stay up and do things. Doesn't need a "point".
Karma is a blatch sometimes (not that I believe in it), but famous Finnish rapper Ezkimo, who had faked his death at least twice earlier, died for real last weekend.
I'm unhappy because I see some days in the mid-upper 90s for this weekend into early next week, with lows around 80 and no chance of rain. This is a summer from hell.
That's the thing, why do people get pissed when they could do the same exact thing themselves?
It's perfectly legal and proper to use both lanes up to the merge point, and common courtesy states that people take turns merging at the choke point.
Just happened minutes ago... I didn't understand why there was single lane up ahead until I came around the curve and saw the trucks.. I was alone in the left lane for 1/2 mile .
Then the guy on the right wasn't letting me in, stepping on the gas more as I got closer.
Here's how it looked behind me... Aside from that 1 car it was pretty much a single lane all the way past that curve we came from...
Now I understand it's a safety thing for the construction workers and a respect thing so you don't have to "cut in front of" the cars near the merging spot... But you can make it safe and keep it slow so you're not really "cutting off" anyone if they are leaving proper gaps between the car in front of them.
I always go near the merging spot at least up until a few cars back, unless I don't see a gap up ahead then I'll scoot in well before...
But over 1/2 mile before?? No need. It was causing a back up
And the trucks were moving forward still so they weren't stopped yet. lol
Oh, the Merritt. Seems they're closing a lane frequently on it these days, though I haven't driven it in a month. I remember the same pattern you're describing. Always a toss-up whether I-95 or the Merritt is better.

Don't talk to me about other drivers. I will blow a gaskett.
People turn into such pratts on the road! They think the road belongs to them, especially those Range Rover *******. They are the wrath of my life, I am not joking.
