Why, you ask? Well I live in Key Biscayne, Its actually out in the ocean surrounded by water on all sides

Thats not a good comparison. The water reaches a depth of almost 1,000 feet between here and Britain so we are definitely disconnected.

Newfoundland is 10 miles from Labrador. It also has a pretty shallow water that is frozen over for sixth months anyway.

The water between here and Europe is pretty deep, you definitely couldn't fill it in etc.
