There is a certain amount of truth to all of those, just oversimplified or exaggerated. Cold climates do have higher energy use per capita. Current oil extraction methods often involve hard to get deeper oil.

Almost a liter? It depends on what you mean. You said "in a day": that could mean you're asking whether it's normal to be able to drink that amount and still be functional. Even that's pushing what should be considered "normal" if you're not really overweight since it would imply a very high tolerance for alcohol. So that's way too much if you're drinking that amount every day.

well, my bmi is 28, so yes - i'm overweight. i'm drunk perhaps 2 times a week. and "high" of using benzodiazepines and z-drugs 4 times a week. sure, there's a cross-tolerance, but i can't really understand how i tolerate this amount of alcohol really.

BMI is flawed and often classifies people who are really of normal weight (but often with more muscle mass) as overweight when they're really not. But in any case, 28 is only slightly overweight. Obesity doesn't begin until you reach a BMI of 30. But in this case BMI doesn't matter anyway. It's simply your weight that does since we're considering the amount of alcohol compared to your total body weight. It definitely sounds like cross-tolerance is significant in your case. Assuming you're drinking that much and getting high on separate days, that's 6 days out of 7 you're on substances, so cross-tolerance is to be expected.

I've been there before. Not to nearly the same extent, but reform is possible. Not in any position to judge, even if I had any desire to do so.

Anyway, kronan, take it easy and best of luck to you. There's more to life than drugs and booze. I say that as I'm downing some Guinness, myself. Tonight I drink to your well-being.
