Tired of people in south east England generalising the weather for everywhere based on where they live. Apparently it can't snow at low levels in Scotand/NI in April and it will reach 13c in -6c uppers. Yeah right more like 5c at beat with the heavy showers.
Unbeknown to them it can actually snow at much higher temps in April as a result of the high lapse rate leading to cold temps being close to surface. I suppose they would be like that in their snow starved region.
Yawn.
Snow in April doesn't occur every year but it is certainly not rare and isn't one of those things were i'd be totally shocked and have it on the news if it happened. Get a grip we do live quite far north, well I do anyway.
I think this just highlights how crappy winters are in south east England and how their climate is more like Paris than Newcastle etc.
