Overall, an average month considering temperatures and sunshine, while being a bit wetter than average, especially in Slavonia, northern Serbia and eastern Bosnia, which had record-setting river heights and monthly precipitations (up to 400 mm in Bosnian mountains, while Belgrade got about 300 mm (including about 200 mm in two days), surprisingly without flooding, while every other place in Slavonia, northern Serbia and eastern Bosnia was flooded.

Rainfall: 88mm/3.5 inches, on 7 days

An close to average month, other than rainfall at only about 65%.

The average high in May was just about average and the average low was 3 degrees F below normal.

Precipitation ended up being a little below normal in Alexandria.

Interestingly, the max temp in May was a degree cooler than the max temp in April.

Corvallis Oregon, Hyslop Field, the official weather station had these numbers:

Average Max - 70.7 (21.5), 3.7 (2) above long term average
Average Min - 46.3 (7.9), 2.0 (~1.1) above long term average
Highest temperature for the month was a toasty 88 (31.1) and I got as high as 91 at my house.
Lowest temperature was 34 (0.1), above frost but only three degrees higher than it's all time low for the date and four for the month. Interestingly enough, it never got below 40 (~4.9) at my place, but then I live in town. We don't track sunshine data very well here but my calibrated eye tells me we got rather more sunny weather than usual for May (about time, too - we've had a string of breathtakingly dreary May's).

Average rainfall is 2.0 inches (about 50mm) on 11 days. This month saw 2.62 (66.5) inches on 12 days continuing the string of wetter than average months that started in February. Given how dry we've been in 2013, I'm not ready to complain...

All in all a much better May than we have seen in quite some time. Our +2.9 (1.6) temperature anomaly doesn't seem like much but this was the warmest May since 1997 and our garden sure noticed it. We're getting things in the ground earlier than in at least 17 years. About as good a month as we can expect in these parts; A-

Turdku,

High: 15.4C (-0.2)
mean: 10.6C (+0.3)
low: 5.8C (+0.8C)

Abs high: 28.9C (24th, highest since 1995)
abs low: -2.5C (7th, also the last freeze)
lowest high: 7.6 (8th)
highest low: 17.0 (24th)

Precipitation: 31.3mm (80%)
most in one day: 7mm (12th)

sunshine hours: 253 (89% of normal, 47.1% of possible)

I'll rate it a C. Except for the mid-month warm spell it was miserable, cool and gloomy as well.

Days above 25: 5
Days above 20: 8
Days above 15: 11 <- my biggest qualm
Days/nights below 10: 26
Nights below 5: 13 <- boke
Nights below 0: 5 <- utter boke, first time when I've lived here 5 nights went below freezing.

I don't have the stats for this area, so use Nelson's, which is 176 hours.

From memory, there was a 20 hour difference between the two towns, when records were kept for both.
