More rain than actual watering I think. The sourrounding area is very green, greener than the photos I posted in early July. I am not in the city at the moment but I will post more photos in a few days when I'm back. Where that photo was taken they have seen 110mm of rain since the start of the month, distributed throughout 17 days recorded precipitation.

Interesting, I'd thought with the temperatures you get, it would look much drier, although previous photos you posted also showed a green landscape.
It must be the amount of rain days that make the difference. Summer months here can get similar totals, but often over only 2-3 days, leaving the landscape looking dry and dusty.
The sea breeze is a vicious thief of moisture as well, which is something Winnipeg wouldn't have to worry about.
