That seems reasonable!

I have to add that school starts mostly about 8 AM here, so the first break is usually about 9:30 AM and second about 11:30 AM. And the decision if we got "Hitzefrei" (lit. school free because of heat) or not was always on the discretion of the school master. I can't recall having such days more often than a few days per year in the summer.

All schools here have A/C so heat isn't a problem indoors, that being said when temps rise to dangerous athletic conditions (105F+) then some outdoor activities can be canceled.

I doubt anybody here is a school. You're = you are.

Anayway, can't see that happening.

Hard to imagine kids learning much sitting in a room if it has no A/C and temps go above 90.

Isn't the purpose of school so kids learn ?

I remember that the teacher took us out on a hot spring day and held the class under a tree.

Don't remember that happening much while school was in session.

I don't remember exactly what the temperature threshold was, but before my school district in western Ohio got A/C in the late 1990's, we got an early dismissal if the temperature got above that threshold. In the various years that I was in school, I had early dismissals or days off because of heat, snow, a power outage, a water main break, the school catching on fire, and a tornado that didn't hit any of the schools but caused enough debris in roads that it was hard to get around town for a day.

In one thread someone said from North Dakota their schools close down for mud during heavy spring rains and I was like unless he was joking. It's hard to tell on the internet unless or is used.
In central north dakota there can be flooding which affects many miles of roadway. If the road floods the kids can't get home.

I'll never forget some really hot September days when I was in grammer school(grade 3-8). I used to fan myself with a piece of paper and the teachers always told me to stop. I was so uncomfortable! No A/C and a small room stuffed with 20 humans. Ugh. No wind coming in the windows but focus going out.
