Predict the biggest weather headlines of summer of 2014 (your local, national, or global, your choice).

I predict that somewhere in Los Angeles metro area will hit 122 F (50 C) for the first time and Death Valley will set a new all time world record of 138 F.

Open to your interpretation; Where I live, September is usually warmer than June so I use astronomical summer. I guess this doesn't apply to the Southern Hemisphere as I'm referring to the upcoming 3-4 months.

For the SH summer, I predict Whakatane's new sunshine recorder will show that town to be the sunniest place in the world, and will actually exceed 100% of the possible total.

I'm also predicting a dry and warmer summer where I live, due to the possible El Nino.

You must live in a very strange place because if I just pick a random place around the world, I see that June is 9.4C/17F degrees WARMER than September.
