Agreed.... overcast takes the colour out of everything. I don't want to go outside into a world that looks like I've just gone totally colour blind. Sunlight is particularly fetching at this time of the year on the turning leaves, and in the park for example, where colours will look vibrant. There was a lovely scene in the park the other day; fallen golden leaves afloat atop the rippling pond, golds, browns, reds, yellow aglow within the sparkling sheen of the smooth water's surface. It would have made for a lovely photo, even more so had the sun been casting its brilliant radiance upon the site.
I don't mind the sun per se but I don't like the monotony of clear skies day after day after day. I like changing weather, sun, clouds, rain, partly cloudy, windy, etc. That's what I love about winter - the weather's always changing.
But I'm not exactly complaining - with a max temp of 21 C degrees each day, this weather is not hard to take at all...lol.
Sunshine is a mood-lifter, and makes even the dearest landscape look inviting and earm, but cloudy weather is depressing. Tonight is 10C and cloudy, which is boring, but last night was clear and 6C, with bright stars and meteorites.
Though I would take 18C and sunny over 25C and cloudy if the Suns strong. It depends on the temperatures, if it is a windy 10C then I need to wear gloves if I am outside for over an hour.
Its nice when there's a NorEaster with wind driven rains and you can keep your south facing windows open without rain coming in. Love this storm! Stacked up on all levels now.
