A couple of persons in our high school were millionaires, one girl and one boy. The boy was a millionaire at 12 years or something. They were the most down-to-earth people you'll find. I guess it's when you're born with money you handle it with grace. On the other side, in a friend's school there was a Vietnamese boy whose dad owned like a dozen ethnic restaurants in Helsinki, and in Asian fashion, he showed off a lot of bling. But still he was a good guy I've heard. Well, I don't think you'll survive the school environment here if you're a rich spoiled dick.
The most spoiled kids we had were those who were upper middle class and their parents had recently gained a little bit of money. But otherwise we were quite heterogenous, as schools tend to be here. Somebody could hope from Santa a new knife to mug people, and others got everything. My sis did go to a school (for a while) which is traditionally very upper class, and there was a lot of bragging and showing off nice things. But there as well, those who were loaded for real were very gracious. She got bored of it and moved to a more heterogenic school.
My friends were all middle class or lower middle class. But eventually we started to hang around more not-so-well off "undesirable" guys. Like drug people. But it was fun to see that world and side of the coin as well. And I never did any crimes.
Our schools were always very cliqued. I had nothing to do with some of the persons in our class/year. It was not that it wasn't allowed, we just did more or less ignore each other. Mostly it was not defined by social class, but interests and personality, and sometimes what part of town you were from. Or just people who didn't get along with each other. And there was definitely popular and unpopular guys and girls as well.
It's amazing how the change of seasons can affect my mood. I'm able to do things like walk up to the post office and grab a few things at the store, in that nice cool air and coming back to a cool house (61 degrees...lol.) Still got my shirt and shorts on - no pants or jacket yet for me...lol.
The sun is slanty, the leaves are turning, and the days are growing shorter and the nights longer. Peak color is just around the corner, followed by leaf-down and the best season of all - winter. Hurray!!
Such a fine, fine time of the year - I'm almost deliriously happy.
I love the fall - I love it, I love it, I love it!
The only real show-offs at my uni were rich Cameroonese students. They weren't into expensive cars, but rather luxury clothes and nights out in posh nightclubs, buying lots of overpriced champagne bottles. Buying the latest iPhone was a must as well. Cool people otherwise though.
One rich student crashed his car a couple days after he got for his anniversary. No injuries, but the poor car was badly damaged.
Absolutely f**ked.. drank way too much tonight lol, but birthdays are made for drinking
lol how much? I drink to unwind after work as my job is frustrating and the store I work at is managed by drug addicts with no clue whatsoever.
