They don't start ours here until 9:40 or so. A bit late for my tastes, especially if it takes ages to get home like it usually does.

I can imagine, is it popular there? Although our roads are pretty pathetic for a city of this size.

We have 3 major displays - downtown, Lenox Mall and Stone Mtn. All of them draw massive, massive crowds of people. I used Marta to get out of the Lenox one, which was a real lifesaver. Got lucky with Stone Mtn the one time we went, since we got there late and had to park at the very age of the outermost parking lot. When it was over, we were one of the first cars to get out of the park - didn't even take 5 minutes (plus the 15 to get home.) But man, you could hardly stand, let alone sit - whew.

One time I used the bus for the big April fireworks show in Louisville, going back to where I had parked at a mall outside the city. It took more than 2 hours and even had drunk people laying against me. In later years I've just paid $20 to park in the garage downtown and it's so much simpler.

But getting away from there in the traffic isn't so bad? That's the problem here, the gridlock after the shows, when everybody goes home all at once.

Never really wanted to see any fireworks, at least not recently. I've been a few demonstrations when I was much younger.

Listening to music, you kind you know you need a haircut when your hair, as mine is, is flying into your eyes when you're drunk and listening to good music.

Sounds like fun...lol.

Going to the beach tomorrow, my parents' timeshare place. Of course, the beach is no big deal for you, being right there...lol.

Interesting tidbit: I'll lose 23 minutes of daylight going over (and gain the same coming back of course.) It's weird to see it get dark earlier on the first night at the beach house...lol.

Yeah there's gridlock, I think there were 800,000 people there one year. I wait around a while before leaving. Last time I'd say it was around 30 minutes from my parking spot until getting on the interstate, not too bad.
