Storms continue to fizzle out over the UK on blitzortung. Some new ones trying to form in the SW but they are very weak with sporadic lightning, at least compared to the real thunderstorms in France. Doubt they'll survive the night.

Of course, everyone on netweather will be bigging them up massively as usual

We just had a big downpour here for a good 5 minutes.

It is not too often that it rains that hard at a temperature of 27C. Like a tropical downpour.

Currently 2 minutes later, the SUN is out but it is still pouring. This is something like they get in Florida.

that storm that moved over sussex and kent was a really big one - proper organised shelf cloud and everything. an impressive batch of storms forming over dorset right now, running up to bristol. you're just unhappy because you won't get a storm (and neither will i).

But anyway, it's funny to see people on nw staying up all night because they *might* get a storm. So naive

(this post wasn't sent from taptalk or whatever that **** is called but it was sent from my android)

Was hoping to catch the thunder, but I didn't want to go outside at the time. The rain started after the thunder stopped. If you crank the volume, you can hear it in the distance.

That's ridiculous yeah, there's a guy in Manchester pulling an "all nighter".

I may have looked at Blitzortung too late to see the really big one in Kent, didn't know there was one that bad.

WOW, here is something you don't see everyday. Tornados spotted at the airport.

Nice dewpoint out there too.

Nearest lightning now about 33-35 miles away. No thunder yet. Looking for tornadoes. I think I see it...
