Now that's outright cold for this time of the year. Our average high/low is 80/55 but it will be only 65/45, more like mid november averages.

I'm hoping Saturday marks the end of the rainy season. 66/82 on Sunday doesn't sound that cool, but when you just went through 4 months of hell it feels great.

Our lows might be near freezing in some of the suburbs

Double Digit snowfall possible Southern Manitoba/Ontario this weekend

Here's Euro00z snow total projection now until Monday morning.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN
431 AM CDT THU OCT 2 2014

LONG TERM...(FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY)
ISSUED AT 339 AM CDT THU OCT 2 2014
THE SLOWER TREND WITH THIS INCOMING SYSTEM ALSO MEANS MOST OF
FRIDAY COULD BE PRECIP FREE AS WE END UP IN THE DRY SLOT...WITH
THE TRAILING WEAK TROUGH AND UPPER LOW NOT SWINGING THROUGH UNTIL
FRIDAY NIGHT. THE TIMING MIGHT ACTUALLY SUPPORT A FEW MORE SNOW
FLAKES MIXING IN LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AS
TEMPERATURE PROFILE COLLAPSE AND THE FREEZING LEVEL DROPS TO NEAR
1000FT WHILE THE LIGHT PRECIP IS STILL ONGOING IN THE EASTERN HALF
OF MN AND IN WESTERN WI. THE SURFACE TEMP AND GROUND TEMP ARE TOO
WARM FOR EVEN MINOR ACCUMULATIONS...BUT NONETHELESS

WE'RE ABOUT A COUPLE WEEKS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE FROM WHEN WE TYPICALLY SEE OUR
FIRST FLAKES . THE GFS/NAM/ECMWF/GEM ALL HAVE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
ACROSS FAR NORTHERN MN WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR DOUBLE DIGIT
/INCHES/ SNOWFALL IN SOUTHERN MANITOBA AND ONTARIO

Anyone counting?? Again with early snow falling

Another freeze last night. In the morning dark it almost felt like winter for a second.

There it is... The Polar Airmass dropping down. Snowing in Montana right now down to 2000 feet

I actually don't mind this setup for winter at all.

  • The west is getting this trough so polar air diving down with snow from West to Central U.S
  • I'm under the ULL in the Northeast which is providing cloudy cool weather (would be cloudy, cold, on off snow showers in winter)
  • SouthEast staying warm.
Not a bad setup IMO.
Current temps, radar and 50mb heights
