Swami's Beach, 3-mi from my home. When driving passed on Hwy 101, the many surfers, always in the water, look like black seals dotting the shoreline.

Some may recall this from the news... a couple of years ago when first I moved to San Diego, surfers were swimming with a giant shark, unbeknownst to them. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Yikes!

^^

I've been to a bunch of beautiful beaches when I was in Orange County CA a few years ago. I will say though, the water temps are less than ideal.

South Beach Miami March 2012. Water temps were already in the 80's and air temps near 90 degrees. PERFECT beach weather!

Off my cousin's facebook... Posted the other day. Myrtos Beach, Kefallonia (my birthplace) Greece.

Really nice beaches that are one of the main attractions in Osoyoos.
Maybe you know where this one was taken?

I took this pic a long time ago, but forgot where.

There is also some woman skinny dipping in the background, which is unusual to see at a public beach in Canada.

Okanagan Lake Beach in Penticton.
I went there yesterday after work

Really? Must be shallow. I would assume it's pretty chilly especially with the cool nights

If it's taken during 2003, JetsNHL is probably right, it was probably around 80ºF.
This year it's probably around 75ºF in the southern end (Penticton, Summerland). It gets colder as you get north. Water temperature in Kelowna is around 70-72ºF.

Yeah it was 2003, so many fires that year.

Okanagan Lake is extremely deep. Nobody has ever been to the absolute bottom.
It really depends on the year. 2003 was hot so it was around 78-80ºF.
2011 was cool and cloudy for most of the summer so the water was <70ºF, which is pretty rare.

I could tell it was 2003 by the Okanagan Mountain Park fire in the distance. One of the most serious forest fires in Canadian history.
