Just returned from a couple days at the beach along the south NJ shore. Water was nice and warm now at 77F.

Decent waves the whole time I was there.

Nice pics, but do you really think 77F/25C water temps are all that warm? I mean it could be worse, but I wouldn't consider that warm. I would say 80F/27C and above is warm....

Forecasted high of 37ºC tomorrow.
Would go jump in Skaha Lake but I work until 8 tomorrow.
Maybe after work if i'm not too tired.
Skaha Lake is pretty warm, 24-26ºC
Here's a photo of the lake, not the beach. (already posted a picture but whatever)

Yes 25C water is warm, just because you personally don't think it is doesn't mean it isn't...

^^

Tom might consider it warm and you might... I said it's not that warm, but it wouldn't be considered warm at all for people who live on and swim in the Gulf Coast either since they are accustomed to much warmer SST's

All water feels chilly when you first get in, even the Gulf Coast (I went in in October but it's still supposedly 27C at that time of year).

That beach posted by Tom looks a lot like West Wittering, just with better waves.

Not so. I was in Myrtle Beach in late June, and I walked in with no problem. Water temps was a warm 85F/29C

Probably because the air temp was lower than the water temp. In Florida that wasn't the case. If I get into an indoor pool heated to 32C, it feels warm. If I get into an unheated outdoor pool it feels cold for a minute or 2 (whether that is in London or Brisbane).

Air temp was near 90 every day I was there. I literally sat in that water for 4 or 5 hours at a time. You can't do that if the water temps are in the mid 70's (unless risking exhaustion or unconsciousness).... If the water temps are below 75F/24C there is no way I'm going in.
