I don't despise cloudy weather; I absolutely love cloudy weather and envy those places that get 1200 or less hours of sunlight a year.
A couple of days a month of sun is fine and a couple of days of partly cloudy weather is fine. Other than that, I am not a fan at all of the sun and get depressed if there is a long stretch of unbroken sunny weather.
Cloudy weather by itself even with no precipitation makes me happy. Clouds are also associated with weather I like such as rain and snow.
There are practical reasons I like cloudy weather, too. I sunburn even while wearing sunblock after an hour, the sun makes it feel hotter than it is, and the glare of the sun makes it harder to see.
It seems that most people on this board love sunny weather... I understand that many folks don't like rain because it doensn't allow outdoor activities. But what's wrong with cloudy days with no rain? I love them.
It gets really boring when the sky is completely clear for several days in a row. I hate being out in the sun, I feel like my skin is burning and I have to wear sunglasses all the time. Driving in the sun is not fun, either.
I would kill myself if I had to live in cities like Phoenix or Las Vegas. 2,000 sunshine hours per year is about perfect for me.
There is no such thing as cloudy days with no rain here in Washington State. It will most likely rain on any cloudy day. I think they say we get more rain here than anything else and I agree with them. I know for a fact that Washington State gets more rain than Idaho at least. Anyway, I don't enjoy rainy or cloudy days. It gets depressing after a while
