Could be worse. In San Francisco, there was an ice skating rink with palm trees in the background. Christmas carols were playing.



was a cold day there. Normal is upper 50s. Why not have christmas lights on the palm trees?

58°F in Islip Long Island while it's 49 across the way in Bridgeport, CT. 47 here.

I don't know what looks more out of place, the ice rink or the palm trees

We just got around an inch of snow.

Just in time for Christmas!

Is there going to be a polar vortex next week? Forecasted highs here as cold as -25C/-13F.

Such weather is miserable, and as for the Sun Belters, they deal with meteorological deprivation by doing what they can and pretending they aren't deprived.

They don't. It's warm in the south. In fact, Florida has you beat by almost 40F.

Almost 60F now here. Temp spiking. Lol 57 in day is nuts this time of year let alone late evening.

Bridgeport 2 degrees away from a record max for Christmas eve.

These warm events are rather daylight insensitive; warmth is from advection rather than sun. Warmest temperature of the day can happen at any time.
