Looks like Thursday will be the Intense day.

GFS12z low temps for next Thursday morning. 1st sub zero of the season for many. Maybe only 1 days worth but whole week looks cold. Daytime Thursday not passing 15F here GFS says.

And for the south. Pure North Winds

We got 2 inches of snow this morning. They have now upgraded tonight's forecast to 15cm/6inhes for the city and more on the border.

If verifies, this week's lows will be colder than last January's "Polar Vortex"

It's been Maine's year for snow and looks like it continues.

4-6" Sunday then more with the Alberta Clipper and coastal low..

National Weather Service Text Product Display

TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY UPPER LEVEL TROUGHING
REMAINS IN PLACE WITH A CLIPPER SYSTEM BRINGING ANOTHER CHANCE OF
SNOW SHOWERS MAINLY TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING.
SECONDARY CYCLOGENESIS OCCURS ALONG THE COAST AND THE CLIPPER
SYSTEM STRENGTHENS AS IT MOVES AWAY FROM NEW ENGLAND WEDNESDAY.
QPF WITH THIS FEATURE WILL BE LIMITED COMING SO FAST ON THE HEELS
OF THE WEEKEND SYSTEM...
HOWEVER THIS MEANS THE LIQUID WATER TO
SNOW RATIOS WILL BE HIGH... CLOSE TO 20:1... MAKING WHAT WOULD BE
A LITTLE WATER INTO VERY FLUFFY (POSSIBLY DEEP) DRY SNOW.

-----------------

Everytime I look at the current alert Map I still see Texas with Winter storm warnings. It's like 3 days now. Whats going on down there? (Upper Lows are nuts)

Lubbock, Texas

Looks like we are going to miss out on most of the snow from this southwest system. More freezing rain and plain rain for most of Chicagoland
