Best time of year, watching the models like a hawk especially after the sun goes down. Something special about watching an update that shows a snowy solution without the sun outside. Still so far out lets just see if the storm keeps showing up. I think there's 2 or 3 we have to watch. 18th, 21st, 25th. Or maybe it's just 1 somewhere within those dates. They are definitely picking up the potential.

Nuts. It's colder in Nashville than it is anywhere in CT.
Few storms coming up lets focus on the 21st one for a second...
Latest 12zGFS(bottom right) brings the 21st storm to the coast instead of Great Lakes like last 3 runs.
Why?
Notice the High Pressure.
Last run (12z bottom right) is kind of Elongated and more into Quebec as apposed to the previous 6z run where it was focused over Winnipeg more. That gave the storm from the south less resistance towards the Great Lakes. (which means warm and rain for northeast)
Previous runs (top 2) had the High Pressure next week over the Mid Atlantic, so there would be no chance for a coastal there.
High Pressures do move, but a storm doesn't push into it.
This is just showing surface and mid level temps.
And here's the result from the latest.. BOOM. Coastal storm. Notice where the frustrating blue line is for me. LOL PUSH!!! Anyone West or north of that line is snow but again, DO NOT look at details this far out. Lets see if the storm keeps showing up and where.
This winter is fast turning into a ****fest like the last one. Average temperature should currently be around -6°C to 0°C but it hasn't dropped below freezing in almost two weeks. No snow, six hours of dim full overcast light, endless drizzle with +4°C around the clock. I can see why Scotsmen need their whiskey.
I can't believe this is happening for the second winter in a row. I can't believe it. It's so unlikely it literally can't be happening. I'll consider this one a bust and start waiting for spring. If the next one is this bad as well, I'll switch to being a heat lover. There's certainly no shortage of that anymore.
