Just remember 3 things before you hear or see ridiculous comments ......
4.57" of rain fell yesterday..
4.51" in August 17, 1926
1.. The most rainfall that fell in 1 day was July 31, 1925 with 4.74"... so how were global temps then?
2.. Most importantly... Our roads are paved now, we have more blacktop around so less water gets absorbed into dirt = higher chances of flooding. It just runs off into tiny drain pipes.
3. More structures, vehicles, population now which = more damage around.
Now you can go on and read ...
------------------------------
"Almost every road, every where affected by flooding in metro Detroit. Do not travel unless extreme emergency or you’ll join the gridlock."
Record-breaking rain floods Detroit metro, shuts down interstates
---------------------------
" He blamed climate change and said federal and local governments need to make major investments in infrastructure because “this is exactly what Southeast Michigan’s weather is going to be like in the future.” I wonder if they said that in the 1920s as well.
