We never had cold winters, nobody said we did Just a few years where we had colder than normal winters which thankfully seemed to have stopped

It depends on whether the Gulf Stream stays steady or not. She might be about due for a shift ...... remember the Little Ice Age, the cold snowy winters of Dickens and the writers before him? The River Thames frost fairs?

The Stream seems to change course a bit whenever the Arctic ice cap melts a bit from global warming, introducing fresh water into the Atlantic Ocean.
