In January 2014, Båtsfjord Airport recorded a mean of -8C, while Vardø Radio (14 m asl) recorded -3.8C.
In July 2014 Båtsfjord recorded mean (24-hr) of 11.1C while Vardø had 9.9C. So Vardø, being on a windswept island in the Barents Sea, might still have the coldest summers. But, in August, 2013, Vardø mean weas 12.5C and Båtsfjord 12.1C.
