This is A topic!

I usually participate in a local weather forum which features many students and even professional meteorologists, and this subject has also come up. In general terms, it seems that the proportion of male and female meteorology students is pretty even. However, almost all the forumers are males!

We have statistics too: out of the 50 members with most posts, there are 49 males and just one female, who no longer posts and is ranked #43. If we include all the top 100, we have 97 males and 3 females, therefore, females only make 3%!!

^^^ This was easy, but on City-Data many members don't share their personal info in the "About Me" section.

Infamous, not famous. ha ha, I misspoke (miswrote). I mean to say that a poll about how many of each gender was done a forum (not weather related), and found that it was pretty much 50/50.

One can create a general poll to attract women onto this forum.

Thing is that most women are moderate weather lovers. They only like temps between 50 and 66 F with sun and a light breeze year round. Unlike most men who either adore extreme heat (G8RCAT likes 92 F and humid) or extreme cold ( I pray for subzero overcast cold this winter) due to interesting phenomenon. Bottom line, women REQUIRE constant comfortable weather.

Let's be honest here. We're all a bunch of 40 year old virgins who couldn't get a girl to like us if we tried. Believe me, I've tried. Here are a few of the pick-up lines that I thought would for sure woo the women, but for some odd reason they were unsucessful:
  • Hey baby, what's your "do" point?
  • Want to see my lightning rod?
  • Can I advect your vortex?
  • Tonights forecast: 100% chance of love.
  • Can I see your weather balloons?
  • Have you ever experienced a massive storm surge?
  • Do you want to collect my precipitation?
  • There's a cold front coming through, but I can keep your front warm.
  • The snow is blowing. How about you?
  • I've got an F-5 in my pants, baby!

We have a female out in California who maintains her own ongoing weather commentary....I'm trying to redirect her to the weather forum. Maybe you all could entice her to come play here.

For months I thought AdriannaSmiling was a guy who had some crush on a girl called Adrianna and he liked her smile. Lol...

Oh and aren't Nei and Rozenn female? They have feminine names...?
